As one my personal UI/UX projects, I decided to redesign and rework the UI & UX of RuneScape 3. Throughout the years I've assisted on redesigning the UI for the mobile client as well as create assets for the desktop client, but never had the opportunity to fully realise a whole new experience.
I had assets that I had created throughout the years that never saw the light of day so together with refreshing those and creating loads more just for this project, this redesign was born. Graphical elements range from, vector icons, hand painted icons, frames, colour palettes, VFX, buttons and in-game capture and paintovers and loads more.
I started by sketching out the current in-game flow on stickies and working out the best way to reorganise and streamline elements, from there chose a few screens to focus on then started to merge UX layers together to create a less convoluted experience for players using modern design principles and visuals. I then applied a new brand style using a revamped colour palette, logo style, and font & texture library to create the UI visuals. You can see a more detailed visual breakdown in my case study!
